Tribes are the core social unit of Soulmask.
Tribes[]
Chieftains in the world of Soulmask can create or join Tribes to work together with allied players and recruited Tribesmen.
Ranks and Management[]
There are 4 ranks within a tribe: Leader, Priest, Noble, and Civilian. The tribe Leader can set permissions based on rank for various categories of tribe and base management.
Tribe Defenses[]
Activity around Bonfires will build up Fever over time, eventually triggering invasions to attack the Bonfire area. This is based on the location of the bonfire as some area's of the map do not collect Fever. Work outposts (Logging Yard, Collection Yard, Excavation Pit) may attract hostile Barbarians who will attempt to capture Tribesmen working in the area. To protect against invasions, it is advisable to build defenses around the base.
- Traps: Groundspikes, Sticky Trap, Bronze Peg Board, Iron Peg Board, Combustion Can Trap, Explosive Can Trap, Arrow Trap, Wooden Valve Trap, Stone Valve Trap, Blackstone Valve Trap
- Barriers: Wooden Barrier, Stone Barrier, Wooden Anti-Climb Thorns, Metal Anti-climb Thorns, Roadblock, Bronze Roadblock, Iron Roadblock, Steel Roadblock
- Artillery: Crossbow Tower, Seige Ballista
- Patrol Route Checkpoints can be placed to establish routes for armed Tribesmen to defend areas around a Bonfire.
Invasion Mechanics[]
When the Fever bar around Bonfires reaches its maximum level due to player activities, it triggers invasion events where hostile forces attack the Bonfire area. Players must prepare by building various defenses and strategically positioning armed Tribesmen to protect their base during these invasions.
Tribesmen[]
Players may recruit Tribesmen to join their tribe to help with production and defense. Tribesmen can be deployed to follow and assist players, or assigned to crafting stations around bases.
Farming[]
A tribe runs on its stomach! Building and operating farmland and raising livestock animals provides an important source of food for cooking. The primary structures involved in farming include, Farmland, Fertilizer Bucket, Beehive, and the Granary. Tribesman assigned to a Granary will automatically plant, fertilize, and harvest nearby farmland.
Some animals may be captured and domesticated. Capybaras and Turkeys will breed in captivity as long as they are provided adequate food and water. Capybara Pens are a good source of feces for fertilizer and meat for cooking. Turkey Coops provide feces, eggs, feathers, and meat. Tribesmen can automatically manage pens and coops while assigned to a Breeding Farm.
Scarlet Macaws and Monkeys become pets that can ride on players' shoulders. Monkeys will gather fruits and nuts from the local environment and deposit them in Monkey Storage Nests.
Alpacas, Llamas, Ostriches, Jaguars, and Snow Leopards become mounts when equipped with saddles.
